It's been almost two months since I've even logged into my Blogger account.
I legitimately just had to look back to see what the last post I wrote was, because I genuinely could not remember.
I didn't intentionally stop writing or have any plans to abruptly walk away from this little space of mine on the internet, but alas, two months went by and I didn't write a single word.
I've thought a lot about whether or not I wanted to keep the blog alive. I have loved it for so many reasons... Abigail's first two years of life are completely documented, I've made some of the sweetest blogging friends (that's a real thing, you guys!) and it's an outlet for me to get my fingers tapping and thoughts on a computer screen paper, which is just good for my soul. I've also not loved it from time to time... feeling like I wasn't living in the moment and being worried about taking 'the perfect blog worthy picture', posting just to post, a few haters and a few creepers, etc. but all in all, I couldn't walk away from it. I don't know how often I'll post or what I'll post about. I don't know if my posts will include pictures or if they will just be me rambling about things that are important to me, but I promise to share more.
So what's been going on over the last two months? Kind of a lot, kind of nothing at all. We took a beach vacation, had an epic stomach bug hit our house, entered the thick of the terrible twos, took a trip to Virginia to watch some friends get married and most recently, I lost my grandfather. That last one really plays a role in my silence on not just the blog, but social media all together over the past couple of months. It's been a TOUGH year, y'all. Losing 3 grandparents in the span of 11 months is not something I wish upon anyone. It's been sad, it's been filled with sharing happy memories & celebrating life and it's been filled with random breakdowns in the drive-thru at Chick-Fil-A (yup, it happened.).
My plan is to come back and document a few, if not all, of those adventures over the next couple of weeks, solely for my documentation purposes, because who really cares about stories like the time that Abigail had the biggest blowout of her life in the airport terminal after I sent Billy on the plane with the diaper bag and had to throw out all of her clothes in the bathroom and bring her on the plane naked, smelling like a sewer?! I can't make this shit up, people.
Anyways -- If you're still here after reading that jumbled up mess of words, bless your heart. I promise to try and be more entertaining over the next couple of months ;)
And in case you forget what she looks like, here's Abigail peeing in the ocean having the time of her life at the beach a couple weeks ago.
